Day 50. I write: DANCERS CRAWLING OUTSIDE THE ART MUSEUM

It is November 22, 1986. The independent dance group Rubicon, led by three female choreographers, interacts with the stairs outside the city's monumental Art Museum. Intense percussion music fills the space as the dancers, clad in yellow rainwear, sit, crawl or run, in rhythmic figurations, forging new relations between bodies, architecture and ever evolving contexts. Attendees are free to come and go as they please. After the performance, when the dancers come forth, applauds and some booing are heard.
