Scenography is a rose

23.08.2018

Day 7. Long day at work. After: walking the street holding three red roses, wrapped in a moss green paper, birthday card and all. Street truly transformed. Love the theory (admit that I have moved this here from yesterday's blog) that facilitates putting words on such scenographic events:

"Scenography facilitates spaces of encounter; that may be in the form of encounters between spectators and performers in ways that are conventionally familiar, but it may also encompass encounters with other spectators, spaces, cites and objects". It "engages the attention of spectators - through the organisation and transformation of space, through the selection and manipulation of images and through the action of the scenographic materials themselves - are often indirect and oblique; an experience and a set of possibilities rather than a singular message".
